The Disc Golf Pro Tour’s JomezPro Series is coming to Canada with the Greater Toronto Open!
Disc golf continues to grow and thrive in Canada, specifically in Southern Ontario. Grass roots expansions of increased participation in the game, and ultimately the evolution of meaningful, quality competitive experiences are helping to define the future of the sport! ChainLink Disc Golf and Conservation Halton have been collaborating for the past several years to introduce new players to the sport, install courses, and host camps, school programs and events that support the park spaces that are home to them. The ChainLink Conservation Series is a phenomenal example of this with the focus on conservation, and how disc golf can have a positive role in people’s appreciation for the outdoors and our natural green spaces. ChainLink Disc Golf’s efforts with the Toronto Open continue to evolve and celebrate competition. Long time partners, ChainLink Disc Golf and Conservation Halton, are excited to lead disc golf’s next chapter in Canada by bringing the message of conservation, play, and competition to the Greater Toronto Area!
Ledgestone Disc Golf, the Disc Golf Pro Tour, Conservation Halton, and ChainLink Disc Golf are thrilled to announce they will be bringing the Disc Golf Pro Tour to Canada in 2027 with the Greater Toronto Open.
Building on the foundation of Conservation Halton’s beautiful 18-hole Kelso Disc Golf Course, located along the Niagara Escarpment (a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve), the group will work together to develop a new course across two of its connecting conservation areas, capable of hosting the best disc golfers in the world as they come to Canada to compete in the Disc Golf Pro Tour. Conservation Halton has been leading disc golf programming for many years through their camp programs, school visits, corporate play, and day visitors discovering the sport. In 2025, Conservation Halton hosted over 4,000 summer campers who experienced disc golf, and in 2026 grew that exposure to over 5,200 kids! As a host venue, Conservation Halton will bring a canvas like no other with incredible escarpment views, and hole layouts that will play with forests, fields, lakes, elevation and distance. Disc golf has fit well with Conservation Halton’s mandate as it is a sport that encourages itself to complement the environment it is established within. From the first tee to the last basket, Conservation Halton is excited to develop something visually stunning, challenging, and rewarding to players and spectators alike.
“Being chosen to welcome this event to Canada as the host venue is an exciting milestone for our community. It reflects our commitment to the continued development of disc golf through our camps and programs, while creating opportunities for residents and visitors to experience the game and see world class players up close. We are proud to continue our partnership with ChainLink Disc Golf as we deliver an exceptional event and showcase our parks on this national stage.” – Craig Machan, Director of Parks.
This partnership brings together some incredible organizations with a shared vision: building world-class disc golf while creating meaningful connections between people, parks, and conservation. The Greater Toronto Open represents a major opportunity for disc golf, outdoor recreation, tourism, and conservation in Canada, and we’re excited about what this could mean for the future of the sport.
“Over the last several years, I have had the opportunity to work with ChainLink Disc Golf and have had a front row seat to watching them grow disc golf across the Greater Toronto region. Ledgestone Disc Golf is thrilled to bring the DGPT to Canada and to work with wonderful partners throughout the region. The Greater Toronto region is the right place to introduce the DGPT to Canada, and I know this is just the start of something incredible with Conservation Halton.” – Nate Heinold, Founder and CEO of Ledgestone Disc Golf.
There is much more to come as we work together to bring this vision to life.
